About the Artist
Jasmine Nichelle is a Michigan/Ohio based actress and singer/songwriter with a focus in contemporary dramatic and comedic plays. She recently added teaching artist to her resume and was overjoyed to work with Great Lakes Theater this past school year to bring heightened language into classrooms across Ohio.
While acting came later in Nichelle's career, she has been writing music since three years old with her musician family. She has written, produced, and performed several scores for one acts, state wide talent competitions, devised collegiate work, and documentaries.
Jasmine also spent her time at Ithaca College rehabilitating and leading Black Artists United, a club in which she served as the President for four years, creating safe spaces and performance opportunities for artists of color through cabaret-fundraisers, workshops, and community service.
Jasmine's mainstage collegiate work (The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and Caesar) have been showcased at Ithaca College where she wrapped up her fourth and final year pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting in the Center for Music, Theater, and Dance in 2025.
She closed her favorite production that she has ever been in, Stupid Fucking Bird at the Hangar Theater in Ithaca, NY, playing Emma before graduating. She most recently closed The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe at the Talespinner Children's Theater and had a blast taking children through Narnia.
When Jasmine is not on stage, she can be found in a thrift shop with her headphones and iced mocha chai in tow or in front of her big window where the sun hits her floor just right reading the most corny romance novels. She can also be found working in a flower shop as a seasonal florist.
Jasmine is excited to collaborate and connect with fellow artists that hold culture and love ethic close to their artistry.
I had the incredible honor of addressing my class as the 2025 Student Commencement Speaker. While sitting next to Bob Iger was definitely an unforgettable experience, I felt honored to be selected by my classmates as a representative of our extremely unique cohort. I get to defy gravity!!
I am overjoyed to be joining Spectacular Entertainment in the Fall to play their Elphaba! I am eager to use my character and improv experience from Great Lakes Theater to bring her to life for the families of Scranton, Pennsylvania!
